Up here the sun is the whole reason people call us. Centennial sits at about 5,830 feet, where the sun is strong and your patio can get too hot to sit on by noon. A pergola fixes that, it throws shade over your patio so you can use your backyard all summer. We've built them for mature yards in Willow Creek and Piney Creek and ranch homes in Southglenn.
Pergolas go wrong here in a few ways: the clay soil lets the posts lean or lift, cheap wood fades and cracks in two summers of strong sun, and folks expect a roof and get an open frame. We build so yours stays put, looks good for years, and does exactly what you wanted.

Most pergola problems here trace back to the sun, the soil, the wind, or what the structure is really for. We build for all of them, and we're honest about what a pergola can do.
The clay under Centennial lifts when it gets wet, and a tall pergola catches the wind. Both pull on the posts. We dig the footings down deep to solid ground, so a wet spring or a gusty day can't lean it or push it up.
At about 5,830 feet, the sun is stronger than it is down in the city. A pergola is shade, that's the whole point. We space the top slats for the shade you want and can add a cover for even more.
Centennial sits in Hail Alley. An open pergola gives shade, not a roof, hail comes through the open slats. Want to stay dry and safe from hail? You want a solid cover. Lots of folks add a solid panel on top of a pergola for both.
The City of Centennial needs a permit for most structures like this, and we pull it for you. Many HOAs, like Willow Creek and Piney Creek, check the plans first. We handle the paperwork.
